About the Chatham Islands

The Chatham Islands is an archipelago of 11 islands, of which only the two largest islands are inhabited: Chatham and Pitt Islands

Situated in the Pacific Ocean, 860km east of Christchurch (New Zealand), the Chatham Islands is New Zealand’s most easterly region and has a time zone 45 minutes ahead of mainland New Zealand. The population is approx 600 ( including approximately 30 on Pitt Island) and is a thriving business community

Chatham Islands has stunning landscape from rocky coastlines, volcanic peaks, cliffs to swampland and sandy beaches.  There is certainly penty for you to see and do.

Each region of Chatham Islands has its own unique landscape features and flora and fauna. Some of the world's rarest species live on these islands.
